How It Started
Janelle Clasby is the founder and CEO of Lotus and Luna. Inspired by her travels through Thailand, she set out to create a business with a meaningful social impact. After meeting Thai artisans Rung, Watini, and Wilawan, she made it her mission to empower these talented women by providing fair wages and ethical working conditions.
Her entrepreneurial spirit has driven her to build a successful brand centered on handcrafted apparel and jewelry that empowers artisan communities. As a dedicated mother of three, she has also created a maternity collection designed to support mothers, helping them feel confident and comfortable in their clothing. Janelle's leadership is an inspiration for women in business, breaking down long-standing barriers and showing us that we have the power to pursue any path we choose.
Artisan Spotlight
Rung is the Head Artisan of our Jewelry Village, where her exceptional leadership shines as she guides 150 artisans in crafting our beautiful jewelry pieces each day. Known for her radiant energy and generosity, Rung is a passionate advocate for creating opportunities that empower artisans to earn a fair and sustainable income.
Watini is the Head Artisan of our Apparel Village, recognized for her outstanding leadership in overseeing 150 artisans in apparel production. Her incredible work ethic, determination, and perseverance have driven her professional growth, making her an inspiring role model within the community. We love that Watini is always excited to share her wonderful ideas.

Wilawan is our Operations Manager at Apparel Village, and her remarkable professional growth over the years has been a true inspiration to us all. Today, she plays a vital role in delegating production tasks and ensuring seamless operations, keeping everything running smoothly. We are incredibly grateful to have her, along with all of our amazing artisans, as part of the Lotus & Luna team.
